Lobenberg: Torrione wurde erstmals 1988 gemacht, damals war der Wein ein reiner Sangiovese. Heute besteht der Blend hauptsächlich aus Sangiovese mit etwas Cabernet Sauvignon und Merlot. Tiefes Rubinrot. Mit der Nase im Glas beginnt man mit dem Torrione eine gedankliche Reise in die Toskana. Waldbeeren, rote und schwarze Kirschen und jede Menge erdiger Aromen und Gewürze. Gebrannter Ton, Vanille, Lorbeerwürze, Nelken, mediterrane Kräuter, luftgetrockneter Schinken und Pinienduft. Mmmh, ziemlich traumhaft. Im Mund vibriert die klare Kirschfrucht mit salziger Mineralität und grünem Tabak. Saftig und würzig mit puderzucker-feinem Tannin. Dieser kleine Wein hat sogar das Potenzial ein paar Jahre im Keller vergessen zu werden. Ein klasse Einstieg in die Weine dieses spannenden Aufsteiger Weinguts. 94/100

-- Suckling: Inviting aromas of dark and blue fruits together with subtle notes of chocolate and spices with hints of blue flowers and crushed stones. Medium- to full-bodied, complex and structured, but ethereal and weightless at the same time. That’s where generosity meets delicacy. It’s fluid, dynamic and so drinkable now, yet better to give it a couple of years in the bottle. From organically grown grapes. 95/100

The purity of the flavors is striking. I especially admire the energy here. This is a rare Torrione I would cellar for at least a year or two. 93/100

It shows dark fruit with bramble, tree bark, blue flower and sweet cherry. The wine offers mid-weight intensity with a long, silky mouthfeel. There is a point of bright acidity at the end, and even a hit of chili spice. With 50,000 bottles made, this wine is offered at a reasonably good price. 93/100
