Bagual Vineyard Garnacha Field Blend Lot #129
-- Parker: The 2021 Bagual Vineyard Garnacha derives from Chile's first regenerative certified vineyard, located on a rare mix of alluvial and granitic soils and tended to by grower Javier Rousseau-Solar. Relative to the field blend bottling of the same site, it is darker fruited and more aromatically expressive out of the gate, accented with a lively mix of citrus peel and stone fruit aromas. The palate has a churning, weighty, glacial feel, concluding with a decadent, fine-grained, aromatic finish with impressive precision and persistence. While I slightly preferred the blend bottling and imagine it will attain greater complexity in the cellar, there is a captivating primordial concentration and power here.
