Gerstl über: Echezeaux Grand Cru

-- Gerstl: Komplett im Stahltank vergoren und ohne Einsatz der Rappen, dann im gebrauchten Holz ausgebaut. Das ist der edelste Kirschenduft, den man sich vorstellen kann. Dazu diese würzigen Noten. Hier strahlt ein filigraner Burgunder Grand Cru mit viel dunkler Frucht aus dem Glas. Weich und süss am Gaumen, saftige schwarze Frucht, zarte salzige Mineralität am Schluss. Was für ein Geschmacksspektrum, der Gaumen wirkt fast gelähmt oder überfordert von den überwältigenden Eindrücken. Hier wird nicht maschinell, sondern rein manuell gearbeitet. Der zarte Umgang mit dem Traubengut offenbart sich auch im Wein – grosse Klasse! 20/20

-- TA: -- Tim Atkin: A very old vine parcel in Les Rouges du Bas is the source of this exotic, silky, nuanced Grand Cru that almost shines out of the glass. Tension, freshness and succulent red and black fruits, well integrated oak and a long, polished finish: superb winemaking. 97/100

Burghound über: Echezeaux Grand Cru

-- Burghound: Here there is enough reduction present to dominate the fruit but not so much that the natural spiciness is hidden. It is also present on the sleek, rich and beautifully detailed medium-bodied flavors that also coat the palate with an abundance of dry extract that simultaneously serves to buffer the very firm tannic spine that shapes the tight, compact and focused finale that demonstrates stunningly good length. Once again this is clearly going to need an extended stay in a cool cellar but it should be well worth the wait. 93-95/100

Parker über: Echezeaux Grand Cru

-- Parker: The 2014 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a deep, broody bouquet with blackberry and raspberry confit aromas, a touch of fig in the background lending a touch of exoticism but nothing extreme. The palate is full-bodied with firm tannin, a little grainy in texture with a deep well of blackberry and raspberry fruit infused with slightly savory, meaty notes towards the finish that gently fans out. Good material/substance here -- it deserves 3-5 years in bottle. 93-95/100

Galloni über: Echezeaux Grand Cru

-- Galloni: Bright ruby-red. Complex, inviting aromas of black raspberry, roast coffee, licorice and garrigue. Densely packed and sweet, with firm but harmonious acidity framing and intensifying the flavors of brambly dark berries, spices and wild herbs. At once sensual and precise, this grand cru finishes with a powerful spine of tannins supported by fruit. Really spreads out to saturate the palate. - Stephen Tanzer. 91-94
