Heiner Lobenberg über:
Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe 2014

92+
/100

Gabriel über: Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe

-- Gabriel: Mittleres Gelb, lindengrüne Nuancen darin, leuchtend. Best Coutet ever! 19/20

Parker über: Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe

-- Parker: The Château Coutet 2014 is a blend of 75% Sémillon, 23% Sauvignon Blanc and 2% Muscadelle and delivers...cue the drumroll...a whopping 162 grams per liter of residual sugar, the highest level of any Sauternes that I have data for. As you would expect, the total acidity is slightly, but not dramatically lower than its peers at 3.9 grams per liter (compared to say, 4.3 grams per liter at Doisy-Daëne.) This Coutet '14 has a complex bouquet with razor-sharp, minerally, citrus fruit mixed with wild honey and a touch of Riesling-like petrol. The palate is totally convincing. There is a great thrust of rich botrytized fruit sliced through with Coutet’s trademark acidity, despite the spoonfuls of sugar, that lends this such vibrancy and tension. It possesses and almost clinical precision with long persistence on the finish. This is a divine Coutet that may warrant a higher score subject to how it evolves in barrel. 93-95+/100

Suckling über: Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe

-- Suckling: This shows a lively density, intensity of fruit and spiciness. Pineapples as well. Full body, medium sweetness and a long finish. 92-93/100

Galloni über: Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe

-- Galloni: The 2014 Coutet is absolutely delicious. Nothing stands out, instead it is the wine's overall balance that is most impressive. Attractive scents of pear, white flowers and pastry convey and impression of finesse. The style is a bit laid back, but the Coutet is a real overachiever. -- Antonio Galloni 90-93/100

Wine Spectator über: Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe

-- Wine Spectator: — WS: Plump at first, with a praline note around the heather, pineapple and nectarine flavors. Stretches out, with a juicy feel, while orange blossom and white peach accents fill in, imparting lift and cut. This packs a bit of power, but there’s lots of buried freshness as well. The finish is seriously long already.—J.M. 95-98/100

Wine Enthusiast über: Chateau Coutet 1er Cru Classe

-- Wine Enthusiast: -- WE: Barrel Sample. Aromatic with the a note of wildflower honey, the palate brings white fruit flavors and rich botrytis power. The midpalate is densely concentrated with fruit tones, yet lightened by a vein of acidity. — R.V. 96-98/100
