Lobenberg: Ein Tempranillo mit kleiner Beigabe von 5% Viura, also weißen Trauben. Nicht nur an der Côte-Rotie der Nordrhône, sondern auch in der Rioja und der Ribera del Duero ist das nicht unüblich. Bereits der Basiswein zeigt, warum vor allem in den Hochlagen der Rioja Alavesa die Zukunft dieser prestigeträchtigen Region liegt. Die kühlen Nächte hier oben lassen eine einzigartige Frische, eine Reintönigkeit der Frucht und wunderbar floral-verspielte Aromatik entstehen. Deutlich Veilchen zur Schwarzkirsche, auch Blaubeere, nur ganz zart pflaumige Anklänge darunter, insgesamt viel strahlend-frische Frucht, animierend und glockenklar. Und ebenso brillant geschliffen und saftig zeigt sich der Mund, dunkle Waldbeeren und eine feinkörnige, aber keineswegs weichgespülte Tanninstruktur machen den Qualitäts- und Reifeanspruch von Artuke schon im Basissegment klar. Ein wunderschöner, sogar leicht salziger, präziser Hochlagen-Tempranillo voller Frucht und ganz ohne Holzeinfluss. Burgund trifft auf Beaujolais und auf Tempranillo, verblüffend schöne, intensive und feine Kirschfrucht, begeisternd. 91-92/100

Jahrgangsbericht

2023 war sehr warm, aber er ist deutlich kühler und balancierter als der noch heißere und trockenere 2022. Nicht so aufregend und extrem wie 2021, eher eine reife und harmonische Version von 2020. Und so ist 2023 durchaus eine Fortsetzung der so großen Jahrgänge seit 2019. Luis Gutierez, Parkers Mann für Spanien, fasst den Jahrgang 2023 anhand von Alvaro Palacios Weingütern ganz im Westen und ganz im Osten, somit Landesübergreifend so zusammen: 2023 was an even more generous crop than 2022 … the wines have better balance, and it doesn't feel like a warm year at all. In fact, the wines feel more like they come from a cool year. It's a vintage that has a tendency toward reduction, not as much as 2020, but still reductive. But it's an elegant, stony reduction...The quality of the 2023s is stunning. There is a level of precision, cleanliness, symmetry and elegance that, if the end of the élevage and the bottling goes as expected, I must conclude that 2023 might be the finest vintage ... There might be other individual wines that reach higher peaks, but as an overall portfolio, the vintage 2023 represents the strongest collection ever produced.

-- Parker: The carbonic-maceration red 2023 Artuke, named after their village in Baños de Ebro, contains some 5% Viura grapes and has a moderate 13.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.5. It's light and fresh, aromatic and floral, open and expressive, quite harmonious for its young age. It was bottled after three to six months in concrete. It's a textbook example of the category and among my favorite carbonic-maceration reds from Rioja year after year. It's velvety and juicy, soft and tasty. 80,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in late December 2023. 92/100

Galloni über: Artuke

-- Galloni: The 2023 Tinto is 95% tempranillo and 5% Viura sourced from Baños de Ebro in Rioja Alavesa. Fermented with whole clusters, it spent one winter in concrete vats. A purple wine, it features aromas of violets and bananas along with a faintly peachy hint. Dry and slightly fizzy, this light and juicy wine becomes compact due to the stem tannins, delivering a vibrant finish. This is a distinctive and tasty young Tinto.

-- Suckling: Brambly nose with sour cherries, ripe strawberries and touches of bubble gum and flowers that come from carbonic maceration. Bright acidity with good energy. Not complex but quite cheerful, laid-back and drinkable. Tempranillo and 7% to 10% viura. Drink now.

Artuke ist ein äußerst spannendes Weingut in Banos de Ebro auf der Hochebene der Rioja Alavesa. Denn obwohl es auf einer langjährigen Familiengeschichte basiert, erfinden die beiden heutigen Betriebsleiter Arturo und Kike das Weingut seit einigen Jahren komplett neu.
