Lobenberg: Schwarz. Immens würzige und zugleich blumige Nase, zerdrückte schwarze Waldbeeren, Erde. Sattes rundes Tannin im Mund, Brombeere, Maulbeere, erdige Würze, mineralisch salzig und zugleich auch irgendwie fein, dabei maskulin herb und auch etwas süß, unglaublich nachhaltig. Man mag es kaum glauben, das wird mal trotz seiner Kraft ein großer Finessewein. 100/100

Falstaff über: Cornas

-- Falstaff: Erst beginnend offen, aber die ganze Komplexität der kommenden Würze zeigt sich bereits: mit Aromen von weißem Pfeffer, Wacholder und Kardamom, Thymiantinktur, Menthol, Holundermark, und einer sehr frischen Schwarzkirschfrucht. Im Mund hat der Wein Volumen ohne Breite, das mürbe, körnige Tannin kleidet den ganzen Gaumen aus, ohne zu adstringieren. Der Wein hat Spannung und wirkt gleichzeitig entspannt, er ist reich und unprätentiös, seine intensive taktile Mineralität gibt ihm eine unwiderstehliche Kraft – und Reifevermögen. Der Abgang ist lang und zeigt bereits die ersten »wilden« Aromen. Ein Maximum an Extrakt, und dennoch nachgerade Schwerelosigkeit. 99/100

Decanter über: Cornas

-- Decanter: Blueberry and liquorice on the nose at this stage, there's a little touch of acetone that is typical of Clape, along with some thyme and rosemary. Full-bodied, but not massive, this has plenty of immediate impact and drive, it really packs a punch on the finish. Powerful ingrained acidity drives the wine forward, as does an inner salinity and ripe but sharply pointed tannins. Ripe and approachable for Clape but still very Cornas, this is delicious now, but will reward cellaring too. Harvest started on the 12th of September. No destemming as usual, fermented in concrete, aged in large old oak barrels. 97/100

Galloni über: Cornas

-- Galloni: Spice- and mineral- accented dark berry, smoky bacon and floral pastille scents show excellent delineation and pick up deeper licorice and olive paste notes with air. Sappy and expansive in the mouth, offering juicy boysenberry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that show outstanding depth and are lifted by a potent mineral flourish. Powerful yet lively in character, delivering solid finishing thrust and closing with noteworthy tenacity and youthfully chewy tannins that build steadily. 96-97/100

Jeb Dunnuck über: Cornas

-- Jeb Dunnuck: The flagship comes largely from the Reynard lieu-dit (unquestionably one of the finest vineyards in the appellation) and the oldest vines of the estate. The lots destined for this cuvée offered another level of richness and depth, with more opulence and decadence than most recent vintages. Full-bodied, concentrated, and tannic on the palate, it’s going to require patience. The 2015 was even more tannic and backward at this stage, but there’s more than a touch of greatness in this beauty. 94-96+/100
