WS über: Champagne Cuvee 737 Flaschengärung

-- WS: A skein of ground spice unravels through this mouthwatering Champagne, while a firm frame of acidity and a tight, refined bead supports flavors of crunchy pear, ripe white raspberry, pastry dough, smoked almond and lemon confit. Disgorged July 2013. 92/100

Galloni über: Champagne Cuvee 737 Flaschengärung

-- Galloni: The Brut Cuvée No. 737 is a beautiful wine to drink now and over the next handful of years, while the radiance of the 2009 vintage that informs the blend is on full display. White stone fruits intermingle with floral notes as the wine opens up in the glass, but the 737 is a Champagne of texture above all else. I would drink the 737 now and hold the No. 736, which is based on 2008, for a few years. The 737 is based on 2009, with the addition of 30% Réserve wines. The blend is 43% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Meunier and 27% Pinot Noir. Dosage was 3.5 grams per liter. 91/100

Burghound über: Champagne Cuvee 737 Flaschengärung

-- Burghound: There is an abundance of pain grillé character to the pretty and attractively layered nose of ripe but fresh apple, pear, white flower and exotic dried tangerine peel aromas. There is excellent richness to the robust and relatively powerful full-bodied flavors that pack plenty of punch on the mouth coating and impressively persistent finish that is certainly dry though not really austere. Usually an RS level of ~3.5 g/l would indicate something that is not far off of bone dry but the 2009 vintage is so inherently rich that this is very well-balanced. It of course depends on how you like the age profile of your Champagne but for my taste this would benefit from being held another 3 to 5 years. That said, it would be no vinous crime to enjoy it now. 93/100
