Lobenberg: Dieser Blend aus 70 Prozent Cabernet Sauvignon und 30 Prozent Cabernet Franc ist der kleine Bruder des Grattamacco. Er kommt aus einer zwei Hektar großen Parzelle die mit Buschreben bepflanzt ist. Auf italienisch heißt diese Form der Reberziehung »Alberello«. Für 18 Monate im Barrique ausgebaut. Brillantes, tiefes Rubinrot. Eine Nase voller Cassis, Brombeere und schwebend leichter kräuteriger Minznoten die in eine Mineralität von frisch gebranntem Ton, Lorbeerwürze und frisch gespitzten Bleistift übergehen. Alles ist voller Finesse und so stimmig. Im Mund sind saftige Schwarzkirschen und auch frisch gepflückte, reife Brombeere die Dominanten. Die Tannine sind fein und pudrig-kalkig. Das ist ein körperreicher Wein, der dennoch ausgezeichnete Finesse und Eleganz an den Tag legt. Nichts ist schwer, alles ist in perfektem Gleichgewicht. Der Cabernet Franc gibt hier einen richtigen Kick. Super Stoff für Liebhaber von klassischem Old-School Bordeaux, sowohl als auch diejenigen, die ihren Cabernet wollüstiger, reifer mögen. Echt schicker Stoff! 96+/100

-- Suckling: Lovely, clean black fruit character to this full-bodied and densely packed red. Also offers hints of dark chocolate, cardamom and fresh fenugreek seeds. The tannins are well embedded in the texture and pull you down into the wine. The fruit is persistent. The finish is long, turning firm by the end. From organically grown grapes. Cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. This is really impressive now, but will benefit from another couple of years in bottle. So tempting now, though. 97/100

-- Galloni: Grattamacco's 2020 Bolgheri Superiore L’Alberello is impressive. Crushed red berry fruit, white pepper, mint, flowers, spice and blood orange all race across the palate, with notable freshness and vibrancy. This deceptively mid-weight Maremma red is beautifully finessed and nuanced from start to finish. I especially admire the energy here. Pretty floral and mineral notes brighten up the finish, with high-toned aromatics that linger. 95/100

-- Wine Spectator: There's a yin and yang between the lush blackberry, black currant and cherry fruit and the tense, grainy tannins in this red, which starts out fluid, then tightens up as it builds to the long finish. Mineral and underbrush notes add depth. Just feels more youthful than its peers at this stage. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2026 through 2045. 95/100
