Lobenberg: Derthona ist fast schon ein Markenname der besten Timorassos. Ursprünglich geschaffen von Walter Massa und seinem Freundeskreis, zu dem auch Vietti und Roagna gehören. Alle drei gehören zu den besten Erzeugern von Timorasso. Ein kleiner Anteil der Trauben von fünf Prozent wurde zehn Tage lang auf den Traubenschalen gelassen. Das trägt zur fantastischen Struktur dieses Weins bei. Zehnmonatiger Ausbau auf der Hefe, zum Teil in Keramik und zum Teil in einem großen 2.500 Liter Holzfass. Keramik hat im Gegensatz zum Stahl eine Mikrooxidation, im Prinzip ist das also ein Barrique ohne Holzeinfluss. Zartes Zitronengelb mit silbernen Reflexen. Kumquat und Mandarinenschale mit grünen exotischen Noten, etwas Mandelkern, Salzmandeln, Salbei, auch Hefe schwingt fein cremig mit. Im Mund kommt dann die erfrischende, präzise Stilistik voll durch. Zitronencreme, auch Salzzitrone, Aprikose, Mandarine. So viel vibrierende gelbe Frucht! Das ist ein frischer, singender Timorasso! Im Vergleich zu dem reichhaltigen, cremigen Stil von Walter Massa das ultra Präzisionsteil mit feinster Phenolik im Mund. Sehr schick und sehr trinkanimmierend. 95+/100

Aromas of fresh and baked yellow peaches and spiced pears mix with hints of petrol, magnolia and dried mango. This Derthona ferments mostly in ceramic vessels and some stainless steel tanks and large oak barrels. Notes of pear and peach with mineral hints and traces of hawthorn introduce a dry, soft and rich palate of great balance, with a persistent finish. 94/100

-- Parker: The Vietti 2021 Colli Tortonesi Timorasso Derthona shows a brilliant appearance, density and crunchy fruit. Still quite neutral aromatically at this young stage, you can expect a slow and beautiful evolution to come. The quality of the fruit is precise and clean. I am reminded of a ripe pear closed with wax. There is a spicy note with white pepper and a hint of kerosene. A tart hint of citric acid needs to iron out, but it gives the wine the ability to age. Some 20,000 bottles were made. 93+/100
