Aus diesem Grund hat Andrew Black nach einer erneuten Einschätzung des Jahrgangs gefragt. Haben sich die ersten Eindrücke gefestigt oder muss die positive Einschätzung revidiert werden?
Andrew Black – Première Presse
The 2016 vintage-post-malolactic
«Midway between the harvest and primeurs week, this edition of Première Presse focuses on the producers’ first impressions of the wines of 2016 after their malo-lactic fermentation. While growers are often reluctant to predict the quality of the vintage straight after the harvest, the completion of the ‹malo› provides them with a better glimpse of the potential of the vintage as it begins its ageing in barrel. While it is not unusual for Bordeaux growers to hype the vintage in preparation for the primeurs campaign, it would appear that the 2016 vintage is already making a big impression on them as they taste their different batches. There’s even a suggestion that 2015 and 2016 may be a repeat of 2009 and 2010, not just in quality but also to some extent in style. Wishing all of you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2017!» – Andrew Black
Pierre-Olivier Clouet (Cheval Blanc):
«I would say that at this stage the 2016 is more expressive than the 2010. What’s more, the wine is integrating the new oak at an amazing rate.»
