Moden blomme, pomerans, sorte kirsebær, lidt brombær. Medium volumen i den smukt sammenvævede mund, der viser god harmoni. Ingen egentlig storhed, men Soutard er ikke desto mindre en meget fin, smuk, meget moden St Emilion i den nye stil. Jeg holder meget af den. En sand fornøjelse og holder for evigt. Endnu stærkere ved den anden smagning i slutningen af maj, en stor vin med et meget individuelt præg.

Samlerårgangen 2020 fascinerer som afslutningen på en magisk trilogi med en næsten overjordisk koncentration. På trods af en massiv tanninstruktur udmærker topvinene sig ved en smørblød, ubesværet saftighed, der ud over en evig holdbarhed også sikrer en spektakulært tidlig drikkemodenhed.

A château on an upward trajectory, the 2020 Château Soutard is another brilliant wine from this estate, which has a terrific terroir on the upper plateau. Cassis, violets, black cherries, tobacco, and graphite, as well as a beautiful sense of minerality, all emerge from this beauty. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it shows the elegant, pure, precise style of this vintage beautifully and has building yet fine tannins, terrific balance, and a gorgeous finish. This utterly classic Saint-Emilion will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and have 25+ of overall longevity. 95/100

The 2020 Soutard is stellar. Rich, ample and super-expressive, the 2020 impresses with its elegant, stylish personality. Rose petal, mint, mocha and sweet spice complement a core of red/purplish fruit, with pretty floral top notes that extend the finish gracefully. Firm yet nicely balanced tannins wrap it all together. This is beautifully done. 95/100

Deep purple-black colored, the 2020 Soutard opens with the most gorgeous perfume of rose petals, lavender, kirsch and raspberry leaves, followed by a core of preserved plums and ripe blackberries, plus emerging suggestions of clove oil and mandarin peel. The medium to full-bodied palate is softly textured and irresistibly seductive, featuring layer upon layer of perfumed red and black fruits and fantastic tension, finishing long, lifted and satisfyingly spicy. 93-95+/100
