Heiner Lobenberg om:
Chateau Pedesclaux 5eme Cru 2025

94–95
/100

Næsen er meget elegant. Surkirsebær med en udtryksfuld, stenet mineralitet. Stor tæthed i munden. Surkirsebær, grønne vaniljestænger og lidt mørk chokolade. Syren er vidunderligt stram og løber gennem hele munden. Der er masser af spænding her. Hindbær løber hen over tungen. Strukturen er ekstremt drikkelig. En god vin, der mangler lidt spænding.

Suckling om: Chateau Pedesclaux 5eme Cru

Lots of purity, with freshness and a linear, evenly distributed dark fruit profile. There is elegance and a chewy texture that’s precise and focused, with good definition.

Alexandre Ma om: Chateau Pedesclaux 5eme Cru

In 2025, Château Pédesclaux returns to the juicy freshness I have always associated with it, with that crystalline clarity once again coming into view. Though the tannins are present in generous measure, it is the refined aromatics of rose petal and sour plum infusion that take the lead, unfolding with a light, lively rhythm across the palate.

Colin Hay om: Chateau Pedesclaux 5eme Cru

(Pauillac; 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot; a final yield of an impressive 41 hl/ha; 13% ABV; certified organic and biodynamic; tasted at Pédesclaux with Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen). A very pretty and actually quite ethereal Pédesclaux, which used to be such a different and, indeed, lesser wine. This has a very dark berry fruit profile that is almost more redolent of Duhart and Lafite! There are bulby floral notes that are one of the signatures of the vintage, with even a little lavendar and rosemary. This is texturally very accomplished with glassy, beady, crystalline tannins that convey the fruit forward over the palate effortlessly. As this suggests, it's also luminous and brilliantly defined and delineated. A study in Pauillac precision. Fabulous and the best ever from here, I am sure.

Jeb Dunnuck om: Chateau Pedesclaux 5eme Cru

Cassis, assorted blue fruits, sappy flowers, and violets all emerge from the 2025 Château Pédesclaux, with some graphite and classic Pauillac nuances rounding out the bouquet as it sits in the glass. Based on 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot that's being raised 18 months in 50% new French oak with the balance in once-used barrels, it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a pure, balanced, layered mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. It's one of the finest I've tasted from this château.
