Chateau Le Pin 2025
/100
100 procent Merlot.

The depth and intensity give incredible energy in this Le Pin at this stage. The plum, dried flower, bark and fresh mushroom character is unique and it continues on the midpalate and finish. It’s endless and sophisticated with an ethereal nature. Transcendental in many ways. Can’t wait to try it from bottle. Two thirds the normal production. Pure merlot. Magic.

Colin Hay om: Chateau Le Pin
(Pomerol; 100% Merlot; a final yield of 20 hl/ha; pH 3.79; 14% ABV; tasted at Le Pin with Jacques Thienpont, Diana Berrouet Garcia and Vianney Gravereaux). Gosh, this is breathtakingly eloquent. Subtle, delicate, intimate and restrained, but all in purity and all in total harmony; this is one of those exceptional and exceptionally rare wines that most eloquently expresses its quality without the need to say much at first. The time to write that sentence is enough for the florality to build in the glass – and it's utterly divine. Peony, hibiscus and a little lilac – nothing really as demonstrative as violet. A little rose petal too, very delicate and finely detailed. Immediately as I put this in my mouth, this is the wine of the vintage. It's a personal taste and utterly subjective, but this touches me emotionally and triggers a near physical response. I've never been touched by the beauty of a wine so much. I will remember this for ever. The delicacy of the tannins on the finish is incredible. Perfection. As yet, the only wine I have ever tasted to make me sob

Jeb Dunnuck om: Chateau Le Pin
A heavenly, wow-inducing wine in the vintage, the 2025 Château Le Pin is 100% Merlot from yields of just 20 hectoliters per hectare, which was harvested on September 4 after the rains to help carry a touch more generosity and charm. Resting in 65% new French oak, it has a Grand Cru Burgundy-like style in its framboise, spicy wood, dried flowers, and graphite-driven aromatics. Full-bodied on the palate, it has a deep, layered, seamless mouthfeel, ultra-fine, velvety tannins, and flawless balance, all carried through a gorgeous finish. Hitting 14% alcohol with a pH of 3.79, I'd say this is one of the wines of the vintage, and it brings more richness, sexiness, and texture than most. It will be impossible to find given the tiny quantities, but wow, what a wine.

Jeff Leve om: Chateau Le Pin
Vivacious, lifted style of Le Pin with layers of silky, velvety, black cherries, licorice, herbs, spices, and orange rind. There is concentration, opulence, and most importantly, lift, so even with all the weight of the fruit, the wine feels up-beat, and vibrant, with lingering notes of crushed flint, and gravel stones, black plums, cherries, and licorice. The wine offers incredible length and energy wrapping up everything up with a soft, but, firm, silky, refined finish. Produced from 100% Merlot, 14% ABV, 3.79 pH, the harvest took place September 5 and September 10. Yields were only 20 hectoliters per hectare, making production quite small this year. Drink from 2030-2055.
