Lobenberg: Rund 5 Jahre Hefelager, die man auch deutlich wahrnimmt. Rauchig, mit feinen Karamellen, dann Pfirsich, die Frucht wird tiefer und gelber, hat schon ordentlich Druck. Sehr feine Perlage, dicht und cremig, auch hier mit schöner Gelbfruchtigkeit. Man wird sofort in den Arm genommen von dieser samtigen Textur, sahnig und fein, der Mund wird komplett in Beschlag genommen. Der Pfirsichfrucht ist karamellig und zugleich zitrisch unterlegt. Reich und frisch in einem. Das ist schon ein richtig schicker Sekt mit einer gewissen Opulenz und doch seidig-animierendem Trinkfluss. Ein richtiges Powerteil, alle Achtung, mit ordentlich Dampf und Struktur, aber eben doch auch so süffig und fein.

Parker über: Riesling Sekt Reserve Extra Brut

-- Parker: Aged sur lattes for 92 months, the 2019 Extra Brut Réserve is pure Riesling vinified in predominantly stainless steel but also traditional oak vats. The wine shows intense and ripe fruit on the elegant, oxidative rather than reductive nose, and it already indicates a certain generosity. Complex and saline on the palate, this is a dry but rich and mouth-filling sparkling Riesling with a pure, bone dry and salivating saline, tightly structured and promising finish. The wine was dosed with less than two grams per liter and disgorged in June 2024. It's still a very young but age-worthy Sekt. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in Burg Layen in February 2025.

-- Suckling: This excellent sparkling riesling has the power and freshness of the great 2019 vintage. Plenty of creaminess from long lees contact is wrapped around the compact citrus and mineral core. Fascinating smokiness on the nose and in the long, crisp and lemony finish. Limited production. Disgorged after 52 months on the lees in bottle. Drink or hold.
