Lobenberg: 100 Prozent biodynamischer Anbau. Mittleres Zitronengelb mit vibrierend frischem Silberton. Das absolute Hammerteil schon an der Nase. Expressiv, intensiv und dabei wundervoll puristisch. Saftig reifer, weißer Pfirsich, Zitronen- und Mandarinenschale, würziger Hokkaido Kürbis mit weißem Honig, einem Hauch Minze und duftigem Geißblatt. Einmal am Glas riechen und schon ist man unterwegs in die komplexe Welt der Aromen. Im Mund dominiert saftiger, gelber Apfel mit weißen Blüten. Die Mineralik ist präzise und zieht sich wie eine salzige Linie durch den Wein. Die dezente Haptik macht ihn zum perfekten Partner vieler verschiedener Gerichte. Von gebratenen Jakobsmuscheln hin zu Safran Risotto. Berauschend gute Qualität von Reyneke. 94/100

-- Galloni: The 2023 Chenin Blanc comes from two blocks planted in 1974 and 1976, pressed with whole bunches with no settling of the juice and racked straight after. It fermented in foudres and clay amphorae. This reminds me of a white Bordeaux on the nose, with hints of chai filtering through the citrus fruit. The palate is very well balanced with tangy orange pith, apricot and hints of vanilla. Seductively textured, suggestions of caramelized pear develop toward the long finish. This is a superb follow-up to the 2022.
