Tameran Marmajuelo
The 2022 Marmajuelo has a moderate 11.5% alcohol and very good freshness and acidity through an early harvest. It fermented and matured in a 2,500-liter oak foudre with lees for 10 months. This is a variety that takes time to ferment, and it's quite aromatic, with volume and acidity and a tasty finish with good grip. This is the first variety to be harvested because it has a short cycle. 3,330 bottles were filled in June 2023. 93/100 *** Tamerán is the name of the winery in Gran Canaria from footballer David Silva, who recently retired from the sport. Jonatan García from Suertes del Marqués in Tenerife is in charge of the wines. 2020 was the first vintage, and they finished building the winery in 2021. Silva has six hectares of vines in production and a further 1.5 of new plantings in the village of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. In 2022, they bought some grapes from the zone and also from the north of the island, in the higher-altitude village of San Mateo. They harvest early (they are in the south of the island, a warmer zone), and they block malolactic. Production is 16,000 bottles.
