Den største vin fra Prunotto? Gajas Sori San Lorenzo kommer også fra denne vinmark ved foden af landsbyen Barbaresco, lige under Paje, det allerbedste kalkstensterroir. Næsen er krydret og æterisk. Geranium, violer og lavendel over tæt frugt af vilde bær. Æteriske urter med mørk mineralitet. Her har vi stadig en delikat og elegant reduktion i næsen. Saftig i munden med tryk og masser af fint lagdelt, pebret krydderi. Tanninerne er fint modne og harmonisk integrerede. Sød, moden jordbær- og hindbærfrugt bliver hængende.

This offers ripe cherries, peach skin, red spices and hints of orange peel on the nose. Juicy and fleshy, it has a medium body, firm tannins and impressive volume and length. Already very attractive, yet better from 2027.

Showing a light ruby color, the Prunotto 2021 Barbaresco Secondine is sharp and chiseled in terms of its bouquet with pretty redcurrant and crème de cassis. This wine shows a bright bouquet with an elegant charge of primary fruit character. Hints of spice and toasted cinnamon make for subtle end notes. It finishes on the lean side, but it has balanced acidity to keep the momentum going. This is a classical wine from Prunotto (with 6,306 bottles released).

Just mid ruby. Leafy raspberry-fruit nose of great purity. Intense yet not heavy raspberry-fruit palate. Very long and dramatic and almost a little rich, but perfectly balanced by ripe acidity and grainy tannins.

I 1923 hjalp Alfredo Prunotto med at genoplive kooperativet "Vine delle Langhe" i Alba, som var kommet i vanskeligheder efter Første Verdenskrig. Den meget unge Alfredo havde været sekretær og rådgiver, siden kooperativet blev grundlagt i Serralunga i 1904.
