Lobenberg: Overvejende røde kirsebær i duften, også en smule sort kirsebær, røg, krydderier, meget fin, slank og æterisk med polerede tanniner. Smagen viser forbløffende meget greb og god friskhed. En mere end anstændig vin, og denne direkte nabo til Mouton Rothschild ligger ret langt foran i sammenligningen inden for appellationen. Meget vellykket.

Årsrapporten

Alt i alt viser det sig at være en moden, men samtidig frisk og frem for alt yderst harmonisk årgang med de bedste resultater i Margaux, Pessac og på højre bred med Saint-Émilion, Pomerol, Fronsac og Castillon. Balance er nøgleordet for 2015.

The 2015 Pedesclaux is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot. It has a pure and fragrant bouquet with incense, violet and iris all permeating the dark cherry and boysenberry fruit. As I noted from my review in barrel, it is not a huge nor powerful Pauillac, but it offers a disarming silky smooth texture, crisp acidity and a rounded, caressing finish that implies it will be more approachable than other Pauillac wines. This is a finely made Pédesclaux to enjoy over the next 15 to 20 years.

Exuberant and rich with so much fruit and richness. Layered and almost exotic. Full-bodied, chewy and very dense. Structured and, at the same time, muscular. Needs four to five years to open. 94/100

Decanter om: Chateau Pedesclaux 5eme Cru

A rich and enticing nose, dark and brooding with sweet spices and bramble fruit touches. You can smell the ripe fruit and heat of the vintage. Plush tannins are offset by mouthwatering acidity on the palate - all in balance with a juicy core. Distinct power but there is also tons of freshness and an underlying minerality. Depth and layers of flavour with a slightly 'hot' finish, clearly a step up in terms of concentration and general structure after the 2014. Still, this would benefit from more time with lots more ageing potential. 94/100
