Heiner Lobenberg om:
Chateau Laroque Grand Cru Classe 2025
/100
99 procent Merlot og en procent Cabernet Franc. Alkoholindholdet er 13,8 volumenprocent, og pH-værdien er 3,4. Udbyttet var 31 hektoliter pr. hektar. Næsen er ren Merlot - snarere sort frugt, sorte kirsebær. En æterisk, let, livlig og fløjlsagtig næse! Lidt cassis bagved, plus grafit og lakrids. Utroligt fint vævet, livlig og velduftende! Rene sorte kirsebær i munden - lækkert!

(Saint-Émilion; 99% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc; a final yield of 31 hl/ha; pH 3.40; 13.8% ABV; tasted with David Suire at the property). The old vine Merlot from the 1950s was crucial to the capacity to manage the stress of the vintage – and one can see that immediately in the clarity and limpidity of the wine in the glass. Staggering purity, staggering lift, staggering energy and staggering precision. The Merlot here is almost rather floral and in this vintage, where the best Merlot has some Cabernet character, one might be mistaken into imagining that there is rather more Cabernet in the blend. The impression of harmony is amazing and total. Laroque is utterly gorgeous aromatically and, if anything, even more so on the palate in 2025. The transformation of what has been produced here – and with it the reputation of the wine – over the last decade is extraordinary. This is another vintage everyone will be talking about. I am struck by the gain in viscosity and volume in the mouth in comparison to even the greatest vintages of the past here, due to almost perfect integration of the ulta-fine grained tannins. We're clearly in 'best ever' territory and that's saying something.

Decanter om: Chateau Laroque Grand Cru Classe
Another great success and value pick for Laroque. Really aromatically complex. Ripe and pristine black bramble berries on the nose, perfumed and nicely fragrant. Lovely aromatic purity. Smooth and so silky, smooth, svelte as Laroque does so well. Mouthwatering with bright acidity but so juicy – strawberry and cherry with a hint of cranberry and soft accents of dried herbs liquorice and wet stones. Grippy but so charming even at this point. Tension with freshness, perfectly polished and friendly. A yield of 31hl/ha with varying yields depending on the terroir from 25-45hl/ha. 3.40pH.

Alexandre Ma om: Chateau Laroque Grand Cru Classe
Château Laroque 2025, long admired for its saline, savory character, does not reveal its full hand right away in the 2025 vintage. It begins with a layer of gentle “sweetness” that softly opens the palate, like a warm cat slowly pressing close, easing you into a state of calm. Then, as you lean in, that touch of sea-breeze salinity suddenly arrives, like waves striking the shore, bringing texture and layers fully into focus. The wine feels impossibly supple, as though half the body were immersed in milk foam, wrapped entirely in a tender, flowing softness. Violet weaves through the wine, lifted by a bright acidity that illuminates the palate. Long after the glass is lowered, fine, powdery traces of limestone continue to echo deep within, like a lover whispering softly by your ear.

Jeff Leve om: Chateau Laroque Grand Cru Classe
The estate's signature floral aromatics are on full display, followed by black raspberries, licorice, spice, espresso, and cherry nuances fill the perfume. Fresh, juicy, vibrant, creamy, and concentrated on the palate, the finish delivers its clean, lifted, salty-edged berries with precision from start to finish. Drink from 2030-2050

Jeb Dunnuck om: Chateau Laroque Grand Cru Classe
Tasted twice with consistent results, the 2025 Château Laroque is a gorgeous wine in the making based on 99% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc that will spend 16 to 18 months in a mix of new barriques, second-use barrels, and foudre. Cassis and black raspberry fruits, graphite, spring flowers, and violet nuances all shine on the nose, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with a pure, graceful mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It shows the more focused, structured style of the vintage, yet the tannins are remarkably polished. Checking in at 13.8% alcohol with a pH of 3.4 and yields of 31 hectoliters per hectare, this is a brilliant effort from this Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé that's going to have some early accessibility yet also evolve gracefully.
Chateau Laroque
Château Laroque er stadig et insidertip uden for Frankrig, men er i øjeblikket ved at blive en stor spiller i Saint-Emilion. Det bedste terroir kombineret med omhyggeligt arbejde i vinmarken og kælderen giver en topvin.
