Fyldig gul farve, appelsinskal og abrikoser i den ret overdådige næse. Næsten lidt fed i munden, masser af kraft til 2024, sød og rig, næsten uventet tyk for det fine år.

I modsætning til de seneste år bød 2024 på enorme mængder vand i foråret og efteråret, og der var kun meget sjældent tørkestress som tidligere.

Warm and intense aromas of baked apricot pastry and cream. Notes of marmalade botrytis and candied peel. Very inviting. Intense and beautifully layered with tarte tatin fruit, cream and candied orange peel botrytis notes in the mouth. This has plenty of zesty acidity to balance the intense sugar (est. 125 g/L) as well as multi-layered flavours of fruit, spice and caramel. Very accomplished.

The 2024 Guiraud is a bold, luscious Sauternes. Apricot jam, chamomile, passion fruit, spice and burnt sugar convey notable intensity to match the wine's creamy, ample feel. Guiraud is a rich, heady Sauternes, but all the elements are impeccably balanced.

The 2024 Guiraud, now under the aegis of winemaker Sandrine Garbay, contains 124 g/L of residual sugar and was picked from September 20 with four tries through the vines. It has a very assured and detailed bouquet with wild honey, peach and light apricot scents, with a touch of vanilla pod tucked underneath. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a keen line of acidity, gaining weight as it moves toward the clementine-tinged finish. What a gorgeous Guiraud!

Château Guiraud has always carried itself with gentleness. In 2024, it feels even more composed and unwavering. Its texture is soft and caressing, its sweetness concentrated, yet the balance between the two is drawn with exquisite precision. Richness floats above weight, sweetness walks hand in hand with restraint. The nose is as pure and luminous as the wine itself, unfolding with the tender clarity of honey, dried apricot, and mandarin peel. Just as the wine begins to settle, a flicker of Sichuan pepper and the subtle bitterness of almond rise at the close, adding a fine-boned structure and contemplative depth. The topaz-gold wine shimmers with warm, clear light, and its high acidity lifts it effortlessly to a brighter, more exhilarating dimension.
