Alexandre Ma om:
Chateau Carbonnieux
Château Carbonnieux 2025 stands as a high point in recent years. Tasting it brings me back to the moment I first encountered the 2016 vintage, now taken a step further in both concentration and purity. I have always felt that Château Carbonnieux needs a great vintage to fully reveal itself, and when such a year arrives, it has everything required to stand alongside the leading estates. 2025 is precisely that kind of vintage, carrying a distinctly Bordeaux “old-money” character, restrained, composed, and attentive to every detail. Beneath the juicy fruit of blackberry, mulberry, and preserved plum candy, a thread of pine resin runs consistently through the wine. The ample tannins are wrapped within a supple body, creating a texture reminiscent of molten chocolate. This is not a wine that seeks to display power, yet in every aspect it conveys the quiet authority and elegance of Bordeaux tradition.
