Den anden Saint Emilion-vingård tilhørende Hubert de Bouard fra Chateau Angelus, som så solgte den tilbage til den oprindelige familie tre år senere. Den ligger ved foden af plateauet, lidt længere nede. Næsen er typisk Bellevue. Aldrig så tæt og frodig som Angelus, men stadig rig. Fuld af frugt og med en vis sødmefuld kraft. Meget flot bærfrugt. Meget moderne og intens. God finesse i munden. En ganske harmonisk vin. Dette er meget moderne middelklasse Saint Emilion og i 2016 sååå typisk De Bouard og Angelus. Meget ekstraheret og masser af nyt træ, årene fra 2019 og fremefter er stilistisk mere naturlige igen, mere i retning af naboerne Coutet og Beausejour.

The 2016 Bellevue is deep garnet in color. It rolls out with open-knit notes of baked black plums, boysenberry preserves, and forest floor, plus hints of Christmas cake and cast-iron pan with a waft of wild thyme. The full-bodied palate is bursting with black fruit preserves and earthy layers, framed by firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and fragrant.

Made from 100% Merlot and cooler limestone and clay soils, the 2016 Château Bellevue shows a beautiful minerality and freshness in its black raspberry, crushed rocks, graphite, and dried flower aromas and flavors. It's medium-bodied, focused, and precise on the palate, with fine yet certainly present tannins. Give this beauty 3-5 years and it will cruise for two decades.

-- Galloni: The 2016 Bellevue is simply extraordinary. The aromatics alone are captivating, but it is the wine's balance and poise that are most impressive. Graphite, gravel, smoke, licorice, crème de cassis and blueberry jam all flesh out on the palate as this deep, dense Saint-Emilion shows off its personality. Hints of blood orange and citrus add a touch of freshness. Complete and satisfying, Bellevue is a total knock-out on 2016. Tasted two times. 93-96/100
