Reine Granache.

Their Garnacha from the village of Lerga 2024 Golerga was produced with grapes that in the past were made into rosé or blended with grapes from elsewhere. They produced a fine red to show the character of this historical place, cooler and with mountain character. The vines grow at around 600 meters above sea level in a zone with more rain, altitude and latitude, so it's one of the coolest places for Garnacha. Some 80% of the volume fermented by plot in open-top pools with 20% full clusters, and the rest of the grapes were destemmed and crushed in a 1,500-liter stainless steel vat. It matured in a combination of 500-liter barrels and concrete. It rained a lot during the harvest, and they had to sort and select more than in their zone. This feels more Atlantic, from cooler climate; it's from a different zone, Baja Montaña, which looks into the Pyrenees, and the wine has good ripeness but with great balance. It has 3.95% alcohol but also very good freshness, a pH of 3.24 and 5.6 grams of acidity. It has balance and purity with tasty flavors and very fine tannins, very elegant. 6,380 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2025.

Tim Atkin über: Golerga Garnacha

Yet again, this wine delivers. It is a very honest expression of Garnacha from Lerga, one of the, cooler zones of the Baja Montaña subregion. With forest berries, a hint of cola and even some, citrus aromas, the wine opens to a palate with grippy but well managed tannins that bring a,lot of energy and vibrancy. Elegant and poised, it will develop further with time.

Galloni über: Golerga Garnacha

With notable aromatic intensity, the 2024 Golerga reveals dark elderberry tones, herbs and black fruit with hints of rosehip, jam, cherry and blood orange. Delicate in texture yet full of flavor, the palate is driven by freshness and lively energy. The finish is long and lightly grippy with impressive energy and persistence. This distinctive Garnacha balances darker fruit with a floral lift.

Verkostungsnotiz

Weingut über: Golerga Garnacha

Lerga used to be a village of historic importance for Garnacha from Navarra. Sadly, almost all of the vineyards have long disappeared. Fate smiled upon us when we met Gonzalo, whose family has been heroic in caring for these old parcels instead of abandoning them. We feel a responsibility to interpret everything that these incredible vines have experienced through this wine and are excited to share it. Long live Lerga! Less production due to lower fruit set. The vineyards could recover from drought because we got some much rain, the rain was excessive at the end of the harvest. Blend of the different garnacha plots from Lerga village. Fermentation in micro recipes and stailess steel, ageing in concrete vats and 500-liters french oak barrels (2 years used).
