Der Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs ist die Chardonnay Prestige-Cuvée des Hauses. Er wird komplett aus Grand Cru-Lagen geerntet, davon rund 70 Prozent an der Côte des Blancs (Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Chouilly und Bergeres-les-Vertus) und der Rest wächst in der Montagne de Reims (Vernezay, Sillery, Taissy, Villers-Marmery). Eine best-of-Selektion der feinsten Trauben und besten Lagen, immer erfrischend niedrig in der Dosage, 2013 sind es 5,5 Gramm. Der Dom Ruinart reift über 9 Jahre auf der Hefe bevor er auf den Markt kommt. Ein sehr intensiver, reicher Champagner, der mit einem ganzen Kaleidoskop von sanften Zitrusnuancen aufwartet. The 2013 Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs is another triumph from the late Frédéric Panaïotis. Disgorged in July 2023 after nine years sur lattes, with a dosage of 5.5 grams per liter—slightly higher than previous releases, tempering the brisk acidity of this cool, slow-ripening vintage—it wafts from the glass with deep aromas of fresh hazelnut, nashi pear, orange, hyacinth and bread dough, alongside the hint of Sichuan pepper and a subtle smoky note that only enhances its gently reductive, toasty signature. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and chiseled, combining crystalline purity with vinosity, enlivened by a pillowy mousse and bright structuring acids, concluding with a precise, chalky finish. Expect a structurally more tightly wound version compared to the demonstrative 2009.,,

Einnehmende Toastnoten in der Nase, Arancini, Nussnougat, Honig, dazu Orangenzeste, hefige Nuancen, auch dezent Kamille, komplex und harmonisch. Am Gaumen in sich ruhend, feine Perlage, harmonisch integrierte Säure, verbleibt lange am Gaumen. Perfekte Trinkreife.,,

The 2013 Dom Ruinart remains rather airy and light on its feet. Citrus peel, slate, chalk, mint and white pepper lend notable brightness throughout. This is a very pretty Dom Ruinart, but it is also not ready to drink. It remains a bit light texturally. It will be interesting to see if this fleshes out with more time in bottle. That said, the 2013 is coming along very nicely. October harvests have become exceedingly rare in Champagne. Dosage is 5.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 2023.

From a late ripening season, the 2013 Champagne Dom Ruinart Blanc De Blancs Extra Brut is a wine that’s going to harken to the past. It’s expressive in the glass, offering up aromas of custard, white flowers, pastry, grapefruit, and pear. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied, with a rounded mid-palate and a lovely, elegant texture with a lot of refinement. It has a razor edge in its persistent drive on the palate, so it’s going to take time to soften and round out, but it’s a very impressive wine for this vintage. Disgorged in February of 2023.

Bereits Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts erwarb Ruinart den ersten Kreidekeller unterhalb der Stadt Reims, Crayères genannt, um für eine perfekte Lagerung zu sorgen. Nur kurze Zeit darauf wurde der erste Ruinart Rosé Champagner aus diesen Caves bereits europaweit exportiert.
