Dessimis
This historic Friuli estate spans about 70ha and has been led by Gianfranco Gallo since 1978. With its deep commitment to expressing the Isonzo terroir, the winery focuses primarily on white wines, releasing them at least two years after harvest to ensure balance and integration. This flagship Pinot Grigio, from Mariano del Friuli, stands out for its pale-copper ramato hue, derived not from extended skin contact but from the grape’s natural pigments. Without malolactic fermentation and aged for nine months on its lees in 228-litre French oak barriques, it combines texture, precision and freshness. Melania Battiston: Lovely spiciness, with bright berries, pink peppercorn and rose petals. Distinctive palate, very textural. One of the best ramatos. Andrea Briccarello: Broad nose of plum, wild strawberry, orange peel, pink grapefruit. Lively, clean and intense. Melon, herbs and a long, salty finish. Bruno Besa: Very aromatic: flowers, rose petals. Great texture, rich, intense. Layers of dried fruits, pink grapefruit and wild berries.
