Mosel Fine Wines om:
Riesling Marienburg Rothenpfad Großes Gewächs
The Marienburg GG Rothenpfad 2024, as it is referred to on the main part of the label, was fermented spontaneously in traditional oak casks from fruit harvested in an iron-rich part of the Marienburg vineyard. It proves initially quite restrained and only slowly delivers its aromatic side, with notes of smoke, yellow peach, thyme, minty herbs, plum, and a touch of apricot. The wine proves delicately juicy and comparatively smooth yet develops great intensity and presence as it gets more airing. The finish is very long, impactful, and well-delineated. This is a great GG, on a slightly richer side.
