A rich and layered red with ripe fruit character and a juicy finish. Beautiful black berry and black cherry as well as blueberry. Lovely finish with lightly terracotta fiish. Should come together beautifully. 30% aged in Tava amphorae. 90% merlot, 8% cabernet and 2%.

The 2025 Soutard-Cadet is fabulous. A wine of magnificent intensity and opulence, Soutard-Cadet covers every inch of the palate with stunning textural intensity and depth. Dark red/purplish fruit, spice, new leather, cedar and mocha build effortlessly in the glass. Yields were just 28 hectoliters per hectare. This is so promising. Tasted two times.

Chocolate-covered plums, black cherries, licorice, smoke, minty-herbs, and black raspberry aromas are all over the place. The wine is loaded with layers of sweet, juicy, plummy, chocolate-drenched fruits that fill and coat your palate with richness, creamy-tannins, and a touch of salty-minerality that shows up in the long finish. The wine blends 90% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The wine is aging in a combination of new, French oak barrels and amphora. Drink from 2030-2050.

Blackberries, darker raspberries, violets, Asian spices, and chocolate all emerge from the 2025 Château Soutard-Cadet, a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru from deeper clay and limestone soils. Based on 90% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot that will spend 16 months in 70% new oak with the balance in amphora, it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with classic Right Bank minerality, good freshness, integrated acidity, ripe, building tannins, and outstanding length. It checks in at 14% alcohol.
