50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. 14% alkohol. Masser af blåbær og modne morbær i næsen. Smuk, violetfarvet frugt med violer, syren, let nougat og mælkechokolade. Bløde tanniner i smagen, igen lidt frugt af syrlige blåbær. Smuk saftighed med medium koncentration. Fin salthed i eftersmagen.

2023 fremstår som et spektakulært, sanseligt nydelsesvidunder, der forener et varmt års modne fylde med en storslået, livlig friskhed. OG denne årgang regnes for at være et absolut hit, hvad angår pris og kvalitet, er yderst charmerende og byder fra første slurk på en uimodståelig, fængslende drikkeglæde.

Ripe but tense, with blackberries, fine sweet spices, minerals, graphite and some red fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, with tight, taut tannins and a long, rather elastic finish. It goes on and on. A blend of 50% merlot, 45% cabernet sauvignon, 3% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot. Drink or hold.

Always as charming and sensual as it was at the en primeur tastings, the 2023 Haut-Marbuzet reveals a bright, elegant and highly distinctive bouquet of lead pencil, licorice, truffle, cherries and spices. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and deep, it is built around a fleshy, seamless core of fruit framed by powdery tannins, concluding with an ethereal, precise and mineral finish.

Cocoa, espresso, licorice, and smoke add to the wines layers of round, lushly textured, black with red fruits. Supple, fresh, and juicy, there is good length, energy, and a long, creamy finish. You can drink this on the young side, or age it for more complexity. Drink from 2028-2045.

With thoroughly pleasing black cherry and blackberry aromas accentuated by floral notes and wet stone, this wine is a winner in 2023: While lacking the depth (and grip) of the 2020 or the 2019, this vintage succeeds with tannic finesse and very good length. The barrel ageing will ensure success!

The 2023 Haut-Marbuzet is terrific. Dark, vibrant and quite virile in its expression, the 2023 Haut-Marbuzet has so much to offer. Plum, blood orange, pomegranate, spice and new leather are some of the notes that leap from the glass. Today, the 2023 is quite primary in its intensity, yet all the elements are very nicely balanced. This is a fine showing.

(St-Estèphe; 50% Merlot; 45% Cabernet Sauvignon; 3% Petit Verdot; 2% Cabernet Franc; 13.5% alcohol). Plump, plush and seductive, just as it should be. There’s always something rather reassuring about Haut Marbuzet and it doesn’t disappoint here. Indeed, it’s another rather floral expression of St Estèphe in this vintage with crushed petals, peonies, pollen and violet accompanying the deep berry fruits. Soft and, again, plump and rich on the palate with very fine-grained tannins, this is excellent. The oak is already very well absorbed and this is a finer and more refined and elegant wine than in recent vintages. A great success.
