70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 2,5% Cabernet Franc, 2,5% Petit Verdot. 13,8% alkohol pr. volumen. Modnet halvt i nye barriques og halvt i et til to år gamle fade. Vidunderlig tæt, moden hindbærnæse med fine røde kirsebærsmage. Udstråler stor finesse og kølighed. Nogle få citrusnoter. Udtryksfuld i munden, saftig og elegant med gennemsigtig, helt elegant kirsebærfrugt. Masser af salt og kridtholdige nuancer. Racy med god spænding og levende mineralitet. Meget god længde. En suverænt elegant, på samme tid saftig og kødfuld og frem for alt meget burgundisk D'Issan.

2023 fremstår som et spektakulært, sanseligt nydelsesvidunder, der forener et varmt års modne fylde med en storslået, livlig friskhed. OG denne årgang regnes for at være et absolut hit, hvad angår pris og kvalitet, er yderst charmerende og byder fra første slurk på en uimodståelig, fængslende drikkeglæde.

Lots of plum, violet, blackberry, flint and orange blossom aromas follow through to a medium to full body with a solid core of fruit, creamy tannins and a minerally, flinty and crushed stone texture in the aftertaste. 70% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot, 2.5% cabernet franc and 2.5% petit verdot. Drink after 2028.

Mint, cedar chest, forest leaf, and spicy red fruits define the nose. The medium-bodied palate is silky and fresh, with a refined, cherry-packed finish that sticks with you. I like that the purity in the mid-palate extends through to the elegant finish. The wine is made from a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 2.5% Cabernet Franc, and 2.5% Petit Verdot. Drink from 2029-2050.

Fine tannins, well balanced, inky and powerful tempered by oyster shell salinity. Chalky tannins with touch of En Primeur austerity, well constructed, full of cocoa bean, cassis, liqourice root, classical balance, highly spiced, rose petals and blueberry, great quality. First time not to have Malbec in the main Issan wine since the purchase of the neighbouring estate Pontac Lynch in 2020. 50% new oak, 32hl/h yield.

(Margaux; 70% Cabernet Sauvignon; 25% Merlot; 2% Petit Verdot; 3% Cabernet Franc; pH 3.66; a final yield of 30 hl/ha; alcohol 13.82; 50% new oak; tasted the property). Plump, lush and gloriously floral and fruity at the same time. Quite seductive and beguiling with cedar, rose petals and peonies, a little iris too and gorgeous black cherry fruit. Violet in the empty glass. There’s a delicious wild strawberry element as well. Tender and lithe. I love the little Cabernet leafy notes that start to reveal themselves as the wine relaxes and unfolds over the palate. Succulent in comparison with the slightly broader profile of, say, Lascombes. Quite sinuous and also extremely crystalline. More depth and concentration than you might perhaps imagine in a vintage like this, which raises for me the quality. Beautifully formed. Quite ethereal. Something of a coup de coeur.

Chateau d' Issan er helt sikkert en af de mest berømte vingårde i Medoc. Den ligger i Margaux-appellationen i landsbyen Issan, som vingården er opkaldt efter. Den har været klassificeret som en 3eme Cru siden 1855.
