Mørk, tæt lilla farve. Meget koncentreret næse med solbær, brombær og blomme samt grafit, våde sten, lakrids og tobak. Bliver finere og mere kompleks med luft, chokolade, fløde, cedertræ og trøfler. Meget ædel smag, intet højt, alt dybt og præcist, træet perfekt integreret. Enorm tæt og rig på ekstrakt i ganen, masser af tannin, men nu moden og fint opløst. Kraftfuld, rig mellemsmag, båret af frisk syre og høj indre spænding. Overraskende rund og elegant på trods af koncentrationen, masser af finesse, cremet smeltende, men altid struktureret. Meget lang, intens finish med mørk frugt, kakao og mineralsk krydderi. En stor Beau-Séjour Bécot, som nåede sit absolutte højdepunkt i 2000-årgangen. Dyb, lang, elegant og ekstremt langtidsholdbar. Nu på et meget højt niveau med yderligere udvikling forude.

Is this the greatest Beau-Sejour-Becot ever produced? The 2000 has put on weight over the last year, and appears to be a spectacular effort in this vintage. The wood is better integrated, and the fruit, glycerin, and overall dimensions are noteworthy. The color is an opaque purple. The bouquet smells of ink, jammy blackberries and currants, wet stones, and licorice. Super-pure and fabulously extracted, with high tannin, full body, and awesome richness and length, this blockbuster effort will be at its finest between 2008-2025.

Showing beautifully, the 2000 Château Beau-Sejour Bécot is fully in its prime drink window and offers brilliant aromatics of red and black fruits, cedar pencil, tobacco leaf, truffle, and licorice. Full-bodied on the palate, it has a deep, concentrated mid-palate, resolved tannins, beautiful overall balance, and a great finish. This is prime, Grade-A Saint-Emilion magic that's drinking at point yet has another 10-15 years of life.

At just past 10 years of bottle age, this is starting to open nicely, with a nose packed with earth, truffle, crushed stone, juicy plums and tobacco. Refined, elegant and soft, the finish leaves you with a rich sensation of pure, ripe blackberries.
