Næsen er super klassisk Champagne med fint grønt æble og pære, plus sød mørdej og bondebrødskorpe, også citrusskal, meget cremet og tætvævet. I munden er Brut Reserve ekstremt velafbalanceret, suverænt afbalanceret, voluminøs og mundfyldende med masser af tryk i midten. Denne cremede krop understøttes af en saftig, kridtagtig, mineralsk syre. Meget delikat og harmonisk i denne tætvævede frugt, men også ekstremt livlig og vital på ganen. Simpelthen en vidunderlig champagneklassiker.

Richly biscuity on the nose, with steamed rice, fresh pear and citrus blossom complexity. Creamy mousse dissolves into red apple peel, lemon and stone fruits, with a depth of honeyed biscuits. The Reserve NV from Pol Roger is a blend of base wines from at least three vintages. With 6 months of post-disgorgement ageing, the wine is ready to enjoy now.

Based on 2022, the NV Champagne Brut Réserve is composed of 34% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir, and 33% Meunier and pours a bright medium yellow hue. More expressive, fruity, and open in this release, it offers candied green apple, ripe pear, white stone fruit, candied citrus, and fresh floral tones. Medium to full-bodied, it has a frothy mousse that fills the palate while retaining good freshness and energy. Consistency remains the focus here, and this is a lovely aperitif to enjoy throughout the year. Drink 2026-2033.

The NV Brut Réserve, based on the 2012 vintage and disgorged after four years on the lees in July 2017, is very clear, precise and fresh on the nose, with bright fruit and delicate brioche notes. Blending equal parts of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay from 30 different crus and with 25% reserve wines, this is a clear, fresh, tight and finessed Champagne with an intense, powerful but also filigreed finish. This is an impressive, taut and persistent "White Foli" for many opportunities.

2016 base tasted, one third each of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. The 2017base has been sold, and I was told that it would be this edition on sale until the end of 2022,which would make it a very smart buy indeed. A pale, buttery and creamy lining here, beforeexpressive apricot, strawberry tart and zingy orange citrus, perked up with browned pastryand marine notes. Fullsome yet carefully shaped, this is on top form.

A great disgorgement of Pol Roger’s basic Brut, a blend that includes 25 percent reserve wines, this is a gracious, red-fruited Champagne. Though the wines go through malolactic, this emphasizes freshness, with a tingle of ginger and mineral acidity lifting the flavors in the finish.

A little bit toasty/yeasty but less obviously so than the Society’s champagne. A little more finesse in the aroma. Elegant, complete and tastes dry despite the residual sugar of 9 g/l. Full in the mouth, with fine mousse.
