Vinstokkene i Gualtallary står på sandede kalksten. Næsten uigennemsigtig, dyb mørk rubinrød i farven. Meget fascinerende!

Suckling om: Malbec Gualtallary

Initially ferric and timid on the nose, with violets and blueberries after aeration. The palate is medium-bodied yet concentrated and rich, showing a firm, saline profile with precision. Subtle pepper and dark olives add complexity. Exceptionally savory and focused, with a chalky texture throughout. This comes from a vineyard planted at 1,400 meters in Gualtallary. Aged partly in cement and partly in a 3,500-liter foudre for 15 months. Drink now or hold.

Parker om: Malbec Gualtallary

From sandy limestone soils in the Tupungato Winelands, the 2022 Malbec Appellation Gualtallary is a reference-point expression of this region, opening with a crystal-clear nose of myriad herbs, dried flowers and underbrush with a dark yet vibrant core of mixed fruits. The herbal nature continuously gains intensity with further aeration, introducing a delectable yet laser-focused palate with seamless precision and vibrant acidity. It concludes with high-toned, mineral-drenched persistence and a luscious yet composed fruit profile, gaining grip and depth with increased oxygen exposure. While already undeniably delicious, this will be a pleasure to watch evolve over the coming two decades. Compared to the Appellation Altamira bottling, this focuses squarely on aromatic herbs and chalky, vertical energy that sits higher in the mouth versus the former's floral depth and horizontal power.

Tim Atkin om: Malbec Gualtallary

Altos Las Hormigas source the grapes for this Gualtallary Malbec from Tupungato Winelands, using a plot located on sand and limestone soils. Inky, intense and well structured, it has lots of chalky minerality, blood orange and blackberry fruit flavours, sinewy tannins and the concentration to age in bottle. 2026-35

Galloni om: Malbec Gualtallary

The 2022 Malbec Appellation Gualtallary hails from the Monastere area in Gualtallary, Uco Valley. Seventy-five percent of the wine was aged in concrete for 12 months, while the remaining 25% was aged in 3,500-liter untoasted foudres for 12 months. The nose reveals a vermouth-like character with wild herbs and delicate fruit, showcasing hints of poleo (mint), blood orange and blueberries. The enticing palate offers a chalky, fine-grained texture and an energetic, vertical structure. It finishes with a lingering impression reminiscent of Pisco Quebranta. It's a delicious high-altitude wine.
