Jeb Dunnuck über: Nebbiolo D’Alba Superiore San Sebastiano

-- Jeb Dunnuck: Nebbiolo d’Alba Superiore is one the oldest appellations in the region, and Elena and Luca are working diligently to bring back this designation to consumers’ attention. The 2023 Nebbiolo D'Alba Superiore San Sebastiano is fantastic on the nose and leads with mineral notes of crushed stones, cranberries, cherries, roses, and fresh orange peel. The palate is linear and structured and has notes of apricot, well-defined tannins, and a long elegance on the finish, with stylistic purity all the way through. San Sebastiano is one of the most historic and important sites in the region, with 65- to 75-year-old vines, and in the cellar the wine is treated more like a Barolo, with a submerged cap for maceration, followed by one year in a large cask. This was also bottled one day prior to my tasting at the estate, providing a preview before its release later in the year. A fantastic red, it has the ability to age over the coming 10-12 years or possibly longer.

Mein Winzer

Cascina Penna-Currado

Der Hype um das neue Weingut Penna-Currado ist absolut berechtigt, denn mit Luca Currado Vietti steht eine lebende Winzer-Legende aus dem Piemont dahinter.
