Heiner Lobenberg über:
Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2015

97+
/100

International Wine Report über: Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

-- International Wine Report: Mature and meaty offering a complex picture to the senses, full of black prunes, fondant chocolate, wet liquorice and flowering geraniums. The complexity shows in the background with a swing between wild myrtle and cloves united with white pepper. Full bodied, delicate and graceful on the palate showing creamy tannins of excellent quality and an enveloping finish of pure beauty. A eulogy to the beauty of sublime purity. Drink now or age. 98/100

Suckling über: Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

-- Suckling: A very opulent style with loads of black-cherry, plum, chocolate, cookie, and dark-chocolate aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied and very layered with loads of fruit and spices. Extremely long and flavorful. Needs time to come completely together, but so gorgeous. Drink now or hold. 97/100

Parker über: Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

-- Parker: Of these new releases from this benchmark estate, the Casanova di Neri 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Cerretalto is my favorite wine. This Riserva is larger than life with ripe fruit, raspberry, cherry, spice, cola, root beer, mesquite and cedar. The wine offers a flashy and generous quality of fruit that unfolds over time with a multifaceted and multi-layered presentation. One thing that stands out here is the acidity that is bracing and tart at first but then succumbs to an important supporting role, rendering lasting freshness and persistence to the finish. With time, you get a flash of cherry and crème de cassis that seals the deal. 97/100

Decanter über: Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

-- Decanter: From the excellent 2015 vintage comes this delicious Riserva. The palate is succulent and light, giving plenty of flavour; sour cherry, toffee - almost like a Caramac bar, coffee and liquorice. It’s actually quite heady without being heavy or plush, amazing intensity and elegance with an undercurrent of bright acidity driving things forward. 96/100

Jane Anson über: Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

-- Jane Anson: Totally moreish, blackberry and black cherry fruits, generous yet subtle and at this point the tannins are welcoming and integrated, practically begging you to begin drinking the wine. Smoked caramel and butter- scotch as it opens, trace of heat on the finish but Sangiovese’s acidity balances it out, and there is a silky texture. Two more additional years of ageing compared to the Poggio Antico. 96/100
