Soco Blanco
The regional white 2020 Rofe Blanco is a blend of grapes from different parts of Lanzarote—Malvasía Volcánica, Listán Blanco and Diego (Vijariego Blanco)—from different locations, mostly Masdache and La Geria, all from traditional vineyards (hoyo, chaboco or enarenado). The varieties ripen at different times, so they ferment separately, mostly going through malolactic fermentation. It encapsulates the character of the whites from the island: it has aromatic characteristics, a mineral/volcanic character, dry, stony and salty, and is clean on the nose, expressive and less reductive. It has a soft mouthfeel with good precision and a dry, serious finish. It has 12.68% alcohol and good freshness. 3,020 bottles were produced. It was bottled in June 2020. There will be a big increase in quantity in 2021. 92/100
