It sports a vibrant pale yellow color and is laced with layered aromas of pastry cream, candied grapefruit, frangipane, peach rings, and shortbread. Elegant and detailed, the palate opens to a refined mousse that allows the wine itself to shine through, with a focused lift on the finish. It is a wonderfully expressive and graceful wine to drink now through 2040. 95/100

Rich and creamy, with striking tropical nuances, the 2013 is both exotic and vibrant. Tangerine peel, lemon confit, marzipan, jasmine and passion fruit are some of the many notes that develop with some coaxing. Bracing graphite-tinged mineral notes open with some time in the glass. The 2013 Amour de Deutz is one of the best in recent memory. I loved it. 95/100
