Lobenberg: Bei der Probe im Jahre 2020 waren da Massen an Frucht und Glyzerin, reif, tief, fett und voluminös, schwarze Johannisbeeren, Kirschmarmelade und Vanille in Nase und Gaumen. Dennoch unendlich feingliederig, zart, seidig und elegant. Gut integriertes Holz. Jetzt erneut probiert, nun war das Holz perfekt integriert, spürbar, aber dezent im Hintergrund. Der Fruchtkern ist erstaunlicher Weise immer noch jugendlich, der Wein steht erst am Anfang perfekter Trinkreife aber kann noch 15-20 Jahre gut wegstecken. Was für eine unendliche Trinkfreude jetzt, so stelle ich mir die moderne Rioja in der totalen Eleganz und Finesse vor. Die schwarze Kirsche ist dicht aber fern jeder Marmelade, konzentrierte Waldhimbeere stützt perfekt. Sowas von auf den Punkt! 95/100

-- Tim Atkin: One wine, one parcel, one grape variety: no one could accuse Señorío de San Vicente of lacking focus. Planted in 1985, this single-vineyard runs to 18.5 hectares, so there are decent volumes to go round. Lighter in style than some recent vintages because of the high yields in 2016, and all the better for it, this is still concentrated and very modern, with layered black fruit, sweet oak and supporting acidity. 96/100

Jeb Dunnuck über: San Vicente

-- Jeb Dunnuck: Not yet released (it will be released in October), the 2016 San Vicente checks in as 100% Tempranillo that was aged 20 months in 90% new French and 10% new American oak. Its deep purple color is followed by a beautiful perfume of blackberries, plums, lead pencil shavings, cedarwood, and crushed rocks. Elegant, full-bodied, with ripe, present tannins, and a great finish, it's another brilliant vintage for this wine. Give bottles 2-4 years and it will keep for 2-3 decades. 95+/100

-- Galloni: Opaque ruby. Expansive cherry, blackberry, potpourri, exotic spice, vanilla and cracked pepper qualities on the intensely perfumed nose. Deep, sweet and penetrating in the mouth, offering spice- and smoke-tinged red and dark berry compote, cherry-vanilla, violet pastille and cola flavors that become livelier with air. The floral quality carries emphatically through the strikingly long finish, which leaves smoke and mineral notes behind. 94/100
