Pinot Noir Trarbacher Schlossberg **
The 2022 Pinot Noir Trarbacher Schlossberg ** is the first release from this cru since the three-starred 2019 and the very first two-starred Schlossberg from Markus Molitor in many years. The pure, salty aspect of the nose unmistakably reveals a Mosel Pinot from barren, brittle slate, pairing red cherry and cranberry aromas with smoky slate and even some gamey tones and an archaic, thoroughly salty note. Silky and elegant on the palate, this is a medium-bodied, very fine and precise yet concentrated and muscular Pinot with a dense texture and fine, fresh slate acidity. Though not as rich and concentrated as the two three-star Pinots from the vintage (Himmelreich and Klostergraben), it is nevertheless dense and silky in its elegance and sensual in its finesse. The 2022 is just developing slowly, so give it time 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 11 24 in January 2026.
