Lobenberg: Direkt auf dem hinteren Teil des Plateau gelegen, kurz vor Castillon, neben Chateau Mangot und Valandraud. Bestes Terroir, 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot. Der neue, belgische Besitzer hat es vor einigen Jahren gekauft und groß investiert. 94 Punkte Parker für den 2015er, 92-94 für den 2016er sind der Dank für seine Mühen, für ein sehr gutes Terroir, für 9 Hektar direkt um das Chateau herum. Also ein richtiges Kleinod in bester Lage. Obwohl es 80% Merlot sind, ist die Nase durchaus auch von der Cabernet geprägt. Wir haben also neben Kirsche auch durchaus ein wenig Himbeere und Johannisbeere. Tolle Säure, etwas Bitterstoff. Tolle Komposition im Mund. Lang, salzig, etwas bitter, feiner Schliff. Sehr archetypischer Saint-Emilion vom Plateau. Nicht groß und auch klar zurück hinter den befreundeten Weingütern Chateau Haut Brisson und Tour Saint Christophe. Das ist so extrem typisch Saint-Emilion und hat dazu diese wunderschöne Spannung und diesen vibrierenden Wechsel zwischen der intensiven schwarzen Frucht, leichten Rauchnoten und der feinen, roten, säurebeladenen Frucht mit dem salzigen Finale. 94+/100

-- Jeb Dunnuck: A straight-up thrill ride of a Saint-Emilion, the 2016 Château Badette comes from a complex mix of clay and sandstone soils and checks in as a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot that was raised in 85% new French oak. A big blast of crème de cassis, crushed flowers, white truffle, and spice flows to a powerful, full-bodied Saint-Emilion that has beautiful ripeness and depth as well as balance. It has the purity and texture to shine today, yet I suspect it will have two decades of life. Bravo! 95/100

-- Parker: Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Badette (composed of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot) leaps from the glass with Black Forest cake, warm black plums and blueberry compote notes with suggestions of baking spices, fragrant earth and menthol plus a waft of lavender. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with black fruit and spicy sparks, framed by firm, rounded tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing long. 93+/100

-- Galloni: The 2016 Badette is every bit as bold and racy as it was from barrel. Dark and sumptuous to the core, the 2016 possesses striking richness and personality to burn. Black cherry, chocolate, leather, spice and tobacco are meld together in an inviting, alluring Saint-Émilion that is going to be hard, if not impossible, to resist upon release. Soft contours and plush fruit add to the wine's flamboyant feel. This is very nicely done. 93/100
