Lobenberg: Leuchtendes mittleres Rot. Schicke Kirschnase, feine blumige Note darunter, Veilchen, Rosenduft. Auch Trockenblumen und Graphit, Steine. Nur in 600 Liter Tonneaus ausgebaut, also sehr zurückhaltendes Holz, die Frucht und der feine, seidige Schliff auf Kirschfrucht steht ganz vorne. Charmant mit seidigen Fluss, einfach nur schön und lecker, Ribera mal nicht zu fett sondern elegant und trinkig.

2024 startete mit viel Wasser ins Jahr, hervorragende Auffüllung aller Speicher. Das Frühjahr brachte immer noch Regen und manchmal Kühle, Verrieselung der Blüte und Kampf gegen Pilze. Das bedeutet insgesamt geringer Ertrag. Ein moderater Sommer war perfekt für ein frisches Ergebnis, im Spätsommer und Herbst folgten einige Regenfälle. Wer vor der zweiten Oktoberwoche mit den schweren Regenfällen alles gelesen hatte (ALLE Topwinzer lesen inzwischen spätestens Anfang Oktober) hatte ein superbes Ergebnis. Rassige, frische Weine wie 2021, Cool Climate, vibrierende Rotweine und aufregende Weißweine. 2024 ist bei den besten Winzern Spaniens ein großes Jahr wie 2021. Schlanker und kühler als das opulentere 2023, reifer und zugleich frischer als das überheiße und blockierte 2022, aufregender und vibrierender als 2018 bis 2020. In der Klasse sicher so groß wie 2016 und 2019, eher noch etwas spannender und schicker, wie gesagt mit sehr viel Parallelen zu 2021.

Jeb Dunnuck zu 2023 über: Antidoto Tempranillo

-- Jeb Dunnuck zu 2023: The 2023 Antidoto is made entirely from Tempranillo, vines grown over 332 plots at high altitude in different villages across Soria, 30 to 80 years old. After a short maceration of five days, fermentation takes place in stainless steel before the wine is aged five months in 600-liter French oak barrels, 25% new. The wine begs for tapas, so lovely is its supple texture and crisp red and black cherry fruit. Made in a modern style, it’s not about power as much as place, showcasing the ability to make great wine from great vineyards and grapes. It retains remarkable freshness throughout a medium-bodied core of finesse. Drink now and for the next 10 years.

Parker über: Antidoto Tempranillo

-- Parker: The unbottled 2024 Antídoto is pure Tinto Fino (they used the grapes from the white vines for the rosé) that fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured for nine months in 600-liter French oak barrels, 25% of them new. It packs a punch at 14.7% alcohol and is juicy and full-bodied but balanced; they did a very soft vinification, and it's a more fragile vintage. It's very primary, with some toasted notes that suggest waiting a bit more. It still has grip and some tannins but feels more fine-boned. 173,000 bottles.

Suckling über: Antidoto Tempranillo

-- Suckling: One can see the potential of 2024 from the fruit of this wine. Fresh and pure though slightly reductive at this stage, this is full of black cherries, plum skins and some dried herbs. Tannins are firm and nicely chewy with medium to full body and a pristine finish. Drink in 2027.

-- Weingut: This wine is our flagship. Antídoto was the first wine made by the winery, looking for the depth and features of the Ribera del Duero of Soria. It is described as a fresh and bright wine, with a remarkable character, to be enjoyed on all occasions. This tinto fino has a short maceration and it is aged in French oak barrels (600L).
