Spätburgunder
Tasted a few hours before the bottling in April this year, the 2020 Spätburgunder trocken shows a dark, intense ruby-crimson color and offers a concentrated, spicy and still somewhat untamed bouquet of dark (cassis) fruits, refreshing polyphenols and flinty terroir tones. Aged for 12 months in Burgundian barrels and another six months in stainless steel, this is a medium to full-bodied, richly textured, intense and elegant Pinot with fully ripe and fleshy fruit, ripe and spicy tannins and stimulating finesse and salinity. The finish is dense, tart and powerful but juicy and structured with saline acidity and ripe tannins. A very promising red wine indeed. 92-93/100
