From a parcel planted in 1921, the 2018 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Reisses Vieilles Vignes bursts with aromas of toasted nuts, orange oil, peach, almonds, mirabelle plum and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, intense and concentrated, with lively acids and a long, saline finish, it's matured in the domaine's oldest barrels. 93/100

A rich but elegant style of Pouilly-Fuissé, this is produced from a half-hectare of vines farmed using biodynamic methods that average sixty years of age. The winemaking is very hands off: after a light crushing the must is fermented mostly in cask (with some in stainless and in concrete). No stirring of the lees, and little topping up, yet the wines remain incredibly precise and nuanced, with a great definition of lush ripe apple fruit with notes of spice and cream and a pleasant mineral undercurrent. 93/100
