Parker om:
Gigondas Les Hautes Garrigues
-- Parker: While I don’t think this is up near the 2009 or 2010, it’s an impressive wine well worth seeking out. In the same ballpark, the 2012 Gigondas Prestige des Hautes Garrigues is a blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre and 5% Syrah that’s aged all in foudre. This cuvee is normally 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre, but due to the difficulty with Mourvedre in the vintage, the 2012 has an added splash of Syrah. In addition, this cuvee is now aged all in foudre (as of the 2010 vintage), and no longer sees aging in small barrels. The deepest in color in the lineup, with beautiful dark fruit, pepper, new leather, licorice and assorted spices, it is a classic, medium to full-bodied Gigondas that does everything right. Possessing knockout purity, as well as the freshness and elegance that’s common in the vintage, this beauty should benefit from short-term cellaring and evolve gracefully for 12-15 years. 92-94/100
