Lobenberg: 2017 med 70% Cabernet Sauvignon. Intens, sort-frugtagtig næse. Masser af eukalyptus og mynte over cassis og brombær. Også sorte kirsebær. Fin og hurtig på samme tid. Moden og alligevel allerede med mineralsk friskhed. Den høje intensitet fra næsen fortsætter i munden med en vanvittig kalksten/salt-smag i eftersmagen. Meget moden, sort Cabernet. Cassis, men ikke noget fedt, i stedet raffineret, levende, dynamisk. Det her er meget elegant. Meget lang. Lynch Bages har været i vælten i et par år nu. Og 2017 er på ingen måde ringere. Det sidste spark fra 2016 mangler måske. Det sidste superchikke, stilfulde punkt på toppen. Men det er i hvert fald en fremragende Lynch Bages og en af de store vine i årets bedste appellation. Pichon Comtesse og Pontet Canet er bestemt ikke truet i deres overlegenhed, og da slet ikke en Premier Cru, men Lynch Bages er lige i hælene. Dette er en stor succes. 96-97+/100

This is a focused and tight Lynch with beautiful blackcurrants, slate, graphite and lead pencil. Medium to full body. Very fine tannins and brightness. Linear line of tannins that runs nicely through the wine. A blend of 70% cabernet sauvignon, 24% merlot, 4% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot. 95/100

The 2017 Château Lynch-Bages is a simply stunning wine in this challenging vintage. This blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot begins with fascinating aromatics of red and dark berries, fresh floral, tobacco, graphite, herbs and licorice that all take shape beautifully in the glass. This possesses a gorgeous medium-plus body with remarkable balance and structure. It goes on to impress as it displays wonderful purity and elegance through the beautiful long finish. An incredible effort that should go on to have a tremendous future ahead. 95/100

A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, brought up in 75% new French oak, the 2017 Chateau Lynch-Bages sports an inky color as well as a powerful, full-bodied style. Rocking blackcurrants, chocolate, smoked tobacco, and obvious minerality all emerge from this beautiful, concentrated wine that has building tannins, the more elegant, silky style of the vintage, a great mid-palate, and a blockbuster finish. It's going to hit the ground running in about 5-7 years and cruise 20 years or more in cool cellars. 95/100

Another wine that is packed with Pauillac signature; one where you feel the tightness and the bristle of the tannins. They have done a great job of carefully extracting the tannins while maintaining a fresh menthol current running through the backbone of the wine. The fruit lacks a little plushness and concentration compared to the 2016 or 2018, but this is impressive. It's a year where names count, and Lynch Bages is claiming its place at the table. 95/100
