Chateau Les Cruzelles (Lalande-de-Pomerol) 2025

Compared to the La Chenade, the 2025 Château Les Cruzelles is often more structured and serious in style. It's another Pomerol look-alike that brings ample structure, medium-bodied richness, a nicely focused mouthfeel, and beautiful aromatics of ripe blue fruits, spring flowers, violets, and chocolate on the nose. It's another brilliant wine in the lineup from this family estate.

Colin Hay om: Chateau Les Cruzelles (Lalande-de-Pomerol)

(Lalande de Pomerol; 85% Merlot; 15% Cabernet Franc; a final yield of c. 36 hl/ha; IPT 85; 13.8% alcohol; tasted with Olivier Gautrat at Eglise Clinet). Sumptuous, the Cabernet Franc aromatics seem to race upwards to greet you through the black cherry veil of Merlot. Walnut shell, graphite, a little cedar too accentuating the more floral notes. This is both a more serious wine than La Chenade and one that has more of the cool, composed elegance of the vintage at its best. Voluminous and, again, I'm struck by the upthrust of freshness through the mid-palate conveyed by the Cabernet Franc. Probable the best I've ever tasted from here with a significant aging potential too

Jeff Leve om: Chateau Les Cruzelles (Lalande-de-Pomerol)

Flowers, black cherries, plums, chocolate, and licorice, give you your introduction to the perfume. On the medium-bodied palate, the wine is sweet, creamy, and fruity, with supple-textures, and loads of sweet, dark cherries, chocolate, and espresso in the finish. You can enjoy this Pomerol look-alike on release if you prefer creamy, youthful fruits, or age it for its secondary characteristics. The wine blends 85% Merlot, with 15% Cabernet Franc. 13.8% ABV. Drink from 2028-2045.
