Enorm rig ædel råddenskab i næsen sammen med masser af honning. Denne tyngde findes også i munden, kraft og masser af frugt og meget sød. På en eller anden måde stadig ikke min årgang, alt er for monstrøst, men uden tvivl en stor vin.

Tasted as part of a vertical held at the chateau. The Guiraud 1990 has a typical oleaginous bouquet of brown sugar, lanolin, quince and dried orange peel that opens nicely during aeration. The palate is full-bodied with good botrytis levels, and suggestive scents of dried mango, spice, brown sugar and quince. There is good volume here and it puts the 1989 in the shade, though I personally prefer the precision and exuberance of the Guiraud 1988. Still, this is a very decent Guiraud that should be consumed over the next five years. 89/100

Light copper color. Oily, pungent, expressive aroma dominated by pineapple syrup; a slightly dank quality quickly dissipated. Thick, resiny and intensely spicy in the mouth, though still rather tightly wound; deeper-pitched and honeyed, with an unusually velvety texture for this wine. Finishes slightly harsh, with a suggestion of phenolics and a bit of heat, plus a sweet note of toffee. 89/100
