Vinstokkene vokser på sandet lerjord i 1.500 meters højde i Uco-dalen. Dyb violet farve med en pink kant. Næsen er næsten hvinende og velduftende. Potpourri af friske røde og lilla blomster. Hindbærlikør, hibiscus, saftige blommer og blåbær. I munden afslører vinen en fænomenal palet af krydderier, fra eksotiske peberaromaer til frisk jord, mørk chokolade, tobak og mørk bærfrugt. Tæt og alligevel vibrerende mineralsk og frisk. Denne stil er kendetegnende for Matias Riccitellis rødvine. De runde, polerede, men alligevel let gribende tanniner giver vinen dens spænding og struktur. Dette er det nye Argentina med præcision og friskhed. Intet her er tungt eller endda fedt. The 2019 Malbec Viñas Extremas Riccitelli Los Chacayes hails from the Uco Valley and was aged in used French barrels. Purple in the glass. The nose comes directly from the Andean foothills. If you close your eyes, you might be standing on a mountain slope in Mendoza, enjoying aromas of thyme, huacatay and jarilla, to which the wine adds the variety’s classic plum and violet notes. Vigorous and fresh with intense flavor and depth and rounded, compact tannins that run right through to the energetic finish, this is a red that delivers an otherworldly flavor palette. 96/100

The 2019 Malbec Viñedo a 1.500 metros en Los Chacayes is a new Malbec from Chacayes, from the highest vineyard there, at 1,500 meters above sea level very close to El Manzano, a place with more rain and sandier soils, a cooler soil and cooler place on limestone gravels. This is the last Malbec they pick, and it has 14% alcohol but 7.4 grams of acidity. It has natural acidity and electricity and tension like no other Malbec. It fermented in concrete with some full clusters and indigenous yeasts and matured in foudre for 16 months. This is super young, with great aging potential. Bravo! 5,000 bottles were filled in October 2020. There will be a Cabernet Franc from here too. 95/100
