From massal selections from the Côte de Nuits planted in 2006 on sandy sedimentary soils over quartzite in the Oestricher Klosterberg, Kühn's 2018 Spätburgunder Trocken opens with a beautifully delicate and aromatic wild berry aroma and remarkable finesse and freshness on the nose. Vital and juicy on the palate, this is a gently juicy picture-book Pinot Noir with a silky texture, stimulating freshness and buoyant character. The tannins are very delicate, and the finish is stimulatingly salty. This Spätburgunder can easily compete with any Bourgogne or even fine Geverys. You will definitely love it, if you prefer a delicate, fresh and elegant style of Pinot. Tasted in April 2020. 92/100
