The 2018 Langhe Chardonnay Piodilei supports an elaborate structure and broad shoulders. This wine underlines the creaminess in Chardonnay, while it's little sister (appropriately called L'Altro, or "the other one") makes citrusy freshness its underlying theme. Instead, this wine is broad and rich, with a layered bouquet that opens to peach, exotic fruit and lemon mousse. That abundant fruit is framed and brought into focus by the wine's pretty mineral contouring. 92/100

Pio Cesare grundlagde sin lille vingård i Alba i 1881. På det tidspunkt var Piemonte en fattig region, og det var ikke let for vinbønderne at tjene...
