-- JDRR: A wine that drinks well past its price point, the 2010 Casa Castillo (Julia Roche E Hijos) Monastrell Jumilla is 100% Monastrell (aka Mourvedre), from sand and clay soils, that spent 6-months in 500-liter French oak barrels. Pure, clean, and rich, with copious vanilla-laced blackberry, licorice, sweet spice, wood smoke, and hints of herbs, this medium to full-bodied Jumilla is seamless and elegant on the palate, with no hard edges, excellent purity, and thrillingly polished tannin that keep the finish focused and straight. Very well done and a brilliant drink, it should continue to shine for 5-7 years. 91/100
